Shared Measurement System (SMS)

Nov 04, 2022 17:58

We’re improving industry access to meaningful data through our Shared Measurement System.

The Shared Measurement System (SMS) is Textile Exchange’s technology platform created to improve the quality of the data available to the industry and make it easier to find. It starts a shift away from the manual collection and analysis of data in isolated systems towards automated processes and an integrated system. This helps to build transparency and guide decision-making.

It integrates the data we process, connects and reconciles information in the textile value chain, and links it with other networks. This helps us to track progress toward our Climate+ goals and reduce duplicative data reporting as much as possible.

TOOLS

We’re ready to share this revolutionary solution with the industry through a preliminary set of interactive tools.

  •  Materials Production Dashboard
Shares production volumes for different fibers and materials through interactive visual charts.

  •   Climate+ Dashboard
Models the industry’s greenhouse gas and water impact, the first two focus areas of our Climate+ strategy, mapping progress against what is needed to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

  •   dTrackit Portal
Allows brands to access information on materials certified to our standards in one place, giving them traceability of certified materials.

  •   Transaction Authentication Dashboard
Protects integrity by giving companies a simple way to check if a transaction certificate for a product certified to our standards is valid.

  •   Certified Supplier Dashboard
Helps companies easily find out if a supplier is certified to one of our standards and for which materials, processes, and products.

Data is our most powerful ally to accelerate industry action on climate change, while building transparency and integrity from the ground up.
